Seattle Skyline Photos: May 2006

The photos in this collection were taken on Sunday, May 21, 2006. These photos were taken in Downtown Seattle from the Wells Fargo Center.

At the top of the building at 1101 2nd Avenue is a logo for Washington Mutual. While the bank closed in 2009, the logo still remains to this day.

At center is the Seattle Municipal Tower. This photo was taken through a dirty window, hence the image quality.

3rd Avenue, looking north. The avenue has few vehicles and pedestrians on a Sunday morning.

3rd Avenue, looking south. The empty lot visible at center is the former location of the Public Safety Building. The lot remains empty to this day.

Pier 46, looking south. At the bottom right is Pier 48, which was demolished in 2010.

1st Avenue South, looking south. At right is the southern portion of the Alaskan Way Viaduct, which is now demolished.

In the foreground is Qwest Field (currently CenturyLink Field), with Safeco Field located behind it.

At center is the Chinatown and Japantown areas of the International District. In the background is North Beacon Hill.
